iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max go on sale in more than 65 countries
The rumor
Apple's new Pro iPhones reached stores and the first pre-order customers on Friday in more than 65 countries and regions, with 20 more following on September 25. Prices start at $1,199 for the Pro and $1,299 for the Pro Max, and anyone in the US who didn't pre-order is looking at two to three weeks for the Pro and three to four for the Pro Max. The camera headline is the 48MP main camera's variable aperture, which steps between f/1.48 and f/4.

Apple's first foldable reached stores and the first pre-order customers on Friday in more than 70 countries and regions, with 28 more due on October 30. Lines were long and walk-in stock was limited. In France, China, Japan, India and several other markets you needed a pickup reservation, US buyers were limited to two each, and new online orders are quoting late January. It starts at $1,999 for 256GB, with a 48MP main camera and 48MP ultra wide on the back.

The Duo keeps its camera simple: a 48MP 26mm f/1.6 main camera with an optical-quality 2x crop, plus the same 48MP 13mm f/2.2 ultra wide as the iPhone 18 Pro. That gives a 4x optical-quality zoom range but no dedicated telephoto. The main camera records 4K120 in Dolby Vision, and there are two selfie cameras: a 12MP f/2.2 Center Stage camera on the outer screen and an f/1.8 FaceTime camera under the inner display. It starts at $1,999 with 256GB, with pre-orders on October 16 and sales from October 23.

The 48MP Fusion Main camera now has a six-blade variable aperture with four settings from f/1.48 to f/4, a first for iPhone. It sits alongside a 48MP 13mm f/2.2 ultra wide and a 48MP 4x (100mm) f/2.8 tetraprism telephoto, good for 8x optical-quality zoom and up to 40x digital. Video goes up to 4K120 in Dolby Vision, with ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2 and Cinematic effects you can add after shooting at up to 60 fps. Pre-orders open September 12 and it goes on sale September 18, from $1,199 for the Pro and $1,299 for the Pro Max.
